Soccer bowl and bikes

Amanda had her soccer bowl Saturday, June 7th, and she played her best game yet the last game of the season. She was the lone defensive player (playing 5 on 5, 1 goalie, 3 forwards, one defensive person). And she was a wall! Nothing got by her and she anticipated where the ball was going and just all around played a great game. It is so fun to watch her make such great improvement in a season. Almost makes me want to do fall soccer. . . hmmmm, almost.

We are now a bike riding family. Both kids are off and biking with no training wheels. We bit the bullet and bought Amanda a really nice bike that will last her another 3-4 years and then Ben will be able to ride it. Ben is riding a bike that is a tad bit big for him but he is handling it really well. He can sit on the seat but only one foot can touch the ground. But he can get going just fine if the pedal is in the right spot. We are taking daily bike rides--the kids go around are loop together and Craig and I will ride with them to the Wilk's or on the main road. We road our bikes across the Long Bridge on Saturday. That was fun! We will be scouting out more trails to ride now.

It is beginning to look like summer finally. It still isn't hot but it is nice to have sun and warm to enjoy. We are continuing to work on the yard to get it back into shape after the septic incident (they had to come back out and dig again--that is three times!). This week is VBS-Vacation Bible School. The kids go from 9-11:30 to church "camp". I guess this will give me a taste of what next year will be like with Ben in school. Both Amanda and Ben were very excited this morning and didn't even complain when I woke them up to get going. They love it!
