Dr. Peterson didn't make it to our room until right before 5:00 yesterday so it was a long day of waiting. Luke was much more his active self and didn't like being in the room. So we took lots of walks-with Luke in his wagon-around the third floor, down the fish walkway, down the butterfly hallway, through the tree, down to see the pictures of the babies, and back again. We ordered up some blocks to play with and they were entertaining for awhile too.
Luke did a great job with the nurses. They loved him (of course). When they would come in he would stick his little leg out so they could scan his band, he obediently took his medications, and lifted his arm for the temperature. He didn't like having his blood pressure taken very much and as the time came for us to leave and he was feeling pretty good he moved way too much for them to get a good reading.
Dr. Peterson said everything looked great and sent us home. We see her again next week to check in.
Today has been a good day. He is pretty ticked off that we are all eating and he doesn't get too. I would be too. But other than that he seems like a pretty normal Luke. He is still on Tylenol and ibuprofen for the next couple of days and then we can start weaning him and see how the pain is. I think we will know he is healing when the adhesive bandage junk is all off of him (it could be years the way that stuff is stuck to him).
Amanda and Ben played with him this morning with his new play dough set. We played outside this afternoon while Craig and Amanda mowed. I think he is happy to have some space to play around in bigger than the hospital room.
Time to get kids ready for bed now. Good night friends!

So glad to hear you are home and that Luke is doing well. We'll be praying that everything continues to heal properly and that the liquid diet isn't too hard on him.
