Luke is still doing well. When we are home he is happy and having fun. Every new thing is a transition. We went to Papa Steve and Grandma Mary's for some hamburgers and he melted down getting into the van and getting buckled and didn't warm up there for about a half an hour.
When the kids went to be in the Lost in the 50's parade he was mad he couldn't go. Today on our way out the door to soccer he melted down, finally calmed down and was shy at the game but lossened up a little to pick the grass and throw it at Craig. Craig made the observation that in his life in China he was always in the same location--maybe with different people and we have totally changed that to lot's of different locations but the same people.
Hopefully church will go ok tomorrow. He is having some difficulty sleeping. Last night he was fussing from about 11:30pm until 3am and slept well from about 4 until 10. That is tough. We are going to try to keep him up all day today and see if he sleeps a little better tonight. Amanda and Ben have transitioned well and are sleeping great and into their routines. Amanda has been a super helper getting Luke dressed, changing diapers, sweeping the kitchen floor. Ben likes to play with him and they have a great time together.
Our church family is taking good care of us. They have meals coming and it is nice to not have to think about food--and it is good American food!
We have a beautiful sunny day today. Craig got the lawn all mowed and it is looking good around here. Hopefully the sun is here to stay for a few days.

Welcome home. I just starting reading your blog and appreciate your honesty and details. I don't know how old Luke is but our Abigail was 18 months old when we came home from China last November and have experienced the same things you have mentioned: going out into group situations, eye contact, restlessness especially at night and even the shoes. It actually got worse so we have backtracked and for two weeks have pretty much kept her home with mostly me but always one parent (we have three other children) and we are seeing her open up so much. It is hard for some of our family and friends to understand but we wish we would have done this right when we came home but you know, it was Thanksgiving and family was in from out of state, then Christmas and on it went. Just felt the Lord urging me to share tonight. I will be praying for your family and little Luke.

Sounds like you're at least starting to get a routine set. I've been awake praying for all the families we've traveled with every time I wake up from jet lag (which is often!) Trust you're settling in and getting some sleep!!!!!
