what a difference a week makes

As we went to soccer this week and to church for the second time since getting Luke home we thought what a difference a week makes. Last week at soccer he would get down in front of our chairs but didn't want to go anywhere else. This week we had to keep him off the field a couple of times. At church today he was charming anyone who would be charmed for a cookie. He loves to be held during the music at church but if it is just talking he wants to get down and run around. He did a great job during the message today playing with our nametag stickers--it almost seemed like he knew which one went with which person. It may have just been luck. . . but our letters seem easier to read than chinese characters.

My dad and Cindy come next week to visit. Looking forward to them coming and spending some time with us and getting to know Luke. I imagine we will have some more appointments to report on as well.

Amanda played an outstanding soccer game on Saturday. She did a great job of playing her position and anticipating where the ball would be going. She was agressive and went after the ball. It was fun to watch her play.

Ben had his first baseball game this week. He hit pitches when he was up to bat! He also hussled around the bases (especially after his coach got him a belt and he didn't have to hold his pants up). He also did a fine job of fielding a ball hit to the outfield and threw it in to second.

We had a nice evening last night and may have to make this a regular schedule. We put Luke down at 7:30 and had Ben and Amanda stay up until 8:30. It was nice to have some time with them--Luke requires a lot of attention all day long and the older kids are really good about it. But I miss times with them when I can focus on them. We will have to see how that works out practically but it is a nice idea. One worth trying out at least.
